The manufacturing department is staffed by a highly skilled and dedicated workforce that is subject to regular assessment and training.All products supplied are manufactured to the most exacting international standards and any specific customer requirement can usually be accommodated.
Pulse operates a broad based high quality manufacturing capability encompassing both manual an d automated processes for both small and larger production batches.
As a recognised investor in people the Company engages in ongoing training programs
to further the development of skill levels for all its employees - with all its
manufacturing personnel being trained to
IPC-J-001 practices - an exacting standard
predominantly aimed at the defence industry.
Our production capability encompasses a wide range of techniques including:
- Precision manual through hole and SMD printed circuit board assembly
- Automated SMD assembly - solder paste printing, component pick-and-place and reflow.
- Mixed technology assembly
- Precision mechanical assembly and wiring.
- Conformal coating - dipping, spraying or painting
Test and Inspection:
Detailed
inspection is performed both in-process and off-line. For
those assemblies manufactured to military specifications
a 100% inspection is carried out through a combination
of manual and automated inspection techniques. Specialist
inspection techniques also include ultra-violet inspection
cabinets to ensure quality of coatings.
Continued investment in state-of-the-art inspection equipment assists in ensuring we deliver a consistently high quality product to our customers.
Functional test and final acceptance test procedures are performed using special-to-type test rigs and equipment.
Comprehensive in-house environmental stress
screening is carried out using integral vibration and temperature chambers.
All test equipment is subject to regular calibration with traceability to national
standards, and all test results are retained for a minimum of 10 years or as
required by contract.
